A sunny day in Helsinki

Curlew in the morning sun

While waiting  in a hide to take photos from displaying black grouses a curlew made a nice presentation against the rising sun.

Black Grouse Courtship Ritual

I retired from 1st of May and found myself on the 2nd in the forests of Kainuu in a hide on a swamp to photograph and record mating rituals of Black Grouse.

Siberian Jay

Siberian Jay is a symphatetic bird found in old forests in Lapland.  Birds are not shy and very curious.   They were five around me when I took this picture in Inari.
